There is a lot I would like to share although I cannot at this time. I will write more about it all when I feel comfortable with it. I can only say I am an avid researcher and biblical student; in the process over these 40 plus years I have been on many, many paths of which I believe were leading me to where I am now. I can only say I am shocked and astounded by where this search as brought me. Truth is stranger than fiction for sure…
Light and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:5–10, NIV)
Verses 6-10. What these verses are saying; contrary to the traditional view; is “If we claim to have fellowship with him yet are hiding some things in our lives (darkness) we don’t want people know rather than being completely honest and open about ourselves (light) as he has revealed all about himself for all to see; we are only faking it. These verses cannot be referring to a sinless life (vss. 8-10) or else “purifies us from all sin” would be pointless as there would be no sin to purify. See also John 3:19-21; Eph 5:8, 1Jhn 1:8 Jhn 8:12 Col 1:15
Verse 7. Read that carefully, it is saying that people “Sin while walking in the light” Shocking isn’t it! Nevertheless, it says that if we are walking in the light and having fellowship with one another… – it is THEN that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin – which, in this context would have to have been committed while walking in the light and in fellowship with one another; staying in context that is….
Something to think about…
